European Ski Cross Cup

Two days of competition at the Costabella park on the San Pellegrino Pass, the only Italian stage of the season, decisive for the overall European Cup standings.

After the Ski Cross World Cup, the Val di Fassa and the San Pellegrino Ski Area return to the spotlight with four days of the continental circuit which, on 15th and 16th February and 7th and 8th March, will stop at the Costabella park, the official training venue for the Italian national team thanks to the "Piste Azzurre" project coordinated by FISI (Italian Winter Sports Federation). For the sixth and eighth acts of the Men's and Women's European Cup, before the finals on 18th and 19th March in Reiteralm, Austria, there will be around one hundred athletes from about ten nations. Among the Italian athletes expected at the starting gates are the Fassa Valley representatives Jannes Debertol (Ski Team Fassa), Nathalie Bernard (Ski Team Fassa) and Kristian Gabrielli (FassaActive), along with their teammates Simone Deromedis, Paolo Piccolo, Andrea Chesi, Filippo Rossi, Filippo Zamboni and some young athletes from the Trentino Committee, including Desi Rizzoli and Sofia Disertori. Who will display the determination, technical skills and strategy required to reach the podium?

The programme for both competitions includes qualifying rounds starting at 10:00 am, followed by elimination heats leading up to the final, which will determine the day's winner and award the Caseificio Sociale Moena-Predazzo trophy. The organisation is entrusted to the well-oiled machine of the Unione Sportiva Monti Pallidi di Moena, led by Carlo Ganz, supported, as in previous editions, by the Trentino Committee and FISI with the continental group staff. The public will be able to watch the races from the side of the piste, reachable from the pass with the Costabella four-seater chairlift.
