Castel Casez

Castel Casez overlooks the ancient buildings of the noble hamlet of Casez

Castel Casez, also known as Palazzo Concini, is situated at an altitude of 692 m a.s.l. in the main square of Casez, a village near Sanzeno, and was built in the 15th century on a preexisting construction of the 13th century. Despite having been rebuilt several times in the 19th century, the castle maintained its original appearance to this day.

Its crenellated curtain wall and tower are still visible. The Bragherio di Coredo, its first owners, acquired the castle as a fief in the 13th century, when it was only a square tower. After, the building was enlarged until it covered the whole square and even served as a residence for the noble family De Concini. The square is surrounded by the castle's residential buildings in Venetian gothic-style, decorated with typically Nordic elements.

Today, the castle is a private residence and can be visited only on special occasions.
