Castel Gresta, a medieval monument, is situated in the eponymous valley and was in the hands of the Castelbarco family for a long time. The Castelbarcos, a lineage of the Grestas and rivals of the Prince-Bishops of Madruzzo, preferred their more luxurious palazzo in Loppio and abandoned Castel Gresta. In 1703 the castle was plundered and destroyed by the troops of Vendome. Thereafter, it was not rebuilt and decayed considerably over time.
Nowadays only few remains of its walls can be found in the woods, amidst dense vegetation.
