This ancient fortified castle of the Morenberg family overlooks the village of Sarnonico

The castle is composed of two parts which weren't built at the same time: in fact, the construction of the first part dates back to around 1300 and was commissioned by the notary Giovanni Morenberg, whereas the second part was added during the 16th century.
After the extinction of the Morenbergs, the castle was acquired by the Barons of Cless. After having been heavily destroyed by a fire around 1888, the monument was converted into a farmhouse. Above the entrance gate you can still recognise a sundial from 1663.
Nowadays Castel Morenberg is in private hands.
