The Cima Palòn is the highest peak of the Pasubio mountain range and is located in the pre-Alps. Along with the Cogolo Alto it marks the beginning of the Pasubio mountain range. What is most striking about the Cima Palòn is the round form of the summit from where you can enjoy a 360° panoramic view on the Eastern Alps, from the Brenta Dolomites to the Pale di San Martino.
If you would like to ascent this mountain you have several possibilities in various degrees of difficulty. Moreover this mountain does not only offer a great scenery, but also provides interesting information about military history.
During WWI on the Cima Palòn there was a station of the Italian soldiers. Exactly at this place the Italians had to build a tunnel to the neighbouring Dente Italiano, as the Austrian artillery had cut off their supply routes. On the summit you can still see trench systems and shell craters.
