The Trentino is an important first-class wine growing area, also testified by the substantial oenological heritage of this territory
A large number of local and international wines have their first-choice cultivation area in the Trentino, where the main cultivation zones are the Val d’Adige, the Val di Cembra and the Valle di Sarca valleys.
A particular grapevine is the white Nosiola that is cultivated in the Valle dei Laghi and Val di Cembra. Its fine aroma makes this wine one of the most typical ones of the Trentino. By the way, out of these grapes also the sweet and half-sweet Vin Santo is produced.
Among the local types of red wines, above all the light and fruity Marzemino deserves to be mentioned, equally the Teroldego Rotaliano. Some of the first-class international grapevines that are cultivated in the Trentino are the Müller Thurgau, the Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and the Pinot Grigio.
Particularly worth mentioning among the red foreign wines are the Pinot Nero from the Bourgogne, the Cabernet Franc and the Cabernet Sauvignon. Also the full-bodied Merlot, finding its ideal cultivation territory along the hill landscape of the Trentino, is worth mentioning right in this list.
