The following hike on the Passo San Pellegrino mountain pass beneath the Marmolada Massif we do at the end of October, but it is also beautiful in summer or a nice snowshoe hike in winter

Starting point is the Passo di San Pellegrino near Moena. Immediately after the top of the pass, a path branches off to the left which proceeds to the “Albergo Miralago” (parking space, rest point). From the lakeside hotel we follow the path no. 607 towards Fuciade. It leads us through larch forests, past the barns of Garghele and Sbrinz until the alpine meadows of Fuciade and the eponymous mountain hut. Here we are straight beneath the amphitheatre of Cima Uomo and Sas de Valfreida (Marmolada Group).
After a short break we follow the path no. 670 towards Forca Rossa. But soon we leave it again and walk across the mown meadows to the huts “Casoni di Valfredda” at the edge of the larch forest (to follow the marked route would be approx. 150 m in altitude more). At the wooden chapel of Pier Giorgio Frassati we reach a forest road which we walk downhill. Through the Valfredda valley we come back to the autumnally coloured larch woods again. Near the Malga Boer hut, the path turns into a small asphalt road. Soon after we follow the signpost along a forest path back to the Albergo Miralago at the Passo San Pellegrino.
