Spring is the ideal season to discover the Val di Non valley, surrounded by blooming apple trees, medieval castles and deep canyons

When the apple trees are blooming in the Val di Non valley, it’s the ideal time for a hike around Tassullo in the municipality of Ville d’Anaunia. After buying a ticket for the castle at the Palazzo Pilati in Tassullo, we set off to Valer Castle from the 13th century to attend the guided tour, which takes about 1 hour (please note: guided tours in Castel Valer can now be booked online or directly at the Val di Non Tourism Association).
Afterwards we return to Tassullo and start our hike. At the railway station we follow the marker no. 529 which proceeds into the gorge to the Santa Giustina Hermitage. The descent is quite steep but we can already catch a first view on the hermitage which hides between the rocks. Due to works along the path unfortunately we cannot reach the hermitage at the moment.
So we take the path towards south which leads us to a little road to Tassullo. Like this we come back to our starting point again.
