The Madonna di Senale Pilgrimage Site (Unsere Liebe Frau im Walde) is located on the Passo Palade in the Alta Val di Non valley. Our hike starts at the Weissn Sepp tavern near the village centre and enters the forest at the southern slope of the Monte Luco. Hiking towards west, the path crosses the mountain road leading from Castelfondo to the Malga Castrin mountain hut after 3 kilometres.
We continue our walk on the forest path no. 157 towards the Passo Castrin pass (Hofmahdjoch). Leaving the forest, the path first snakes its way across the peaty meadows of the Monte Sous and reaches then the Passo Castrin mountain pastures beneath the peak of the Cornicolo. The trail no. 133 proceeds to the Malga Castrin (Aleralm) which offers local dishes. For the way back we follow the same route down into the valley again.
