A comfortable hike through the forest proceeds from the Passo Mendola mountain pass to the larch meadows of the Regole di Malosco

The Regole (rules) are an ancient form of communal ownership in the Alps which has survived for thousands of years and has secured the survival of the mountain settlers until today. Alpine pastures, meadows and woods in the Trentino, South Tyrol and other regions are part of this special form of ownership, as also the Regole di Malosco, the destination of our little walk.
Starting point is the Passo Mendola pass near Ruffré. Along the path no. 2 and 515 we first walk uphill for a short section, but soon we reach a comfortable almost flat forest path (Sentiero dei siori – Wassersteig) which constantly runs at 1,450 m a.s.l. After passing the Tranzi spring a slow descent of about 120 m in altitude follows which leads us straight to the Regole meadows.
In the wide meadows, surrounded by beautiful larch forests, little huts and three rest points are located: the Gasthaus Falchetto tavern and the Rifugio Regole and La Monteson huts. In the afternoon, we take the same route to come back to our starting point again.
