Herbs and hay baths as a remedy for different diseases
Image gallery: Garniga thermal baths
A vast garden covered by innumerable alpine herbs surrounds the thermal baths of Garniga, situated not far from the capital town of Trento. The herbs are cut in the early morning or late in the evening and are kept and soaked in huge tubs. After this procedure the herbs are ready for being applied in the thermal baths.
When having a hay bath, the patient lies down in a bed of hay and grass, which reaches a temperature of 50-60° C. Hay baths are particularly suitable for rheumatic complaints, tension, lumbar pain and for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome and muscle spasms.
Please note: The Garniga thermal baths are currently closed and there is no information about the reopening (state of information September 2024).
