Three mountain huts on the Gardeccia in the heart of the Catinaccio Group are open during the winter months for hikers, tobogganists and ski tourers. The high plateau is a place of peace in a winter wonderland off the slopes

The Val de Vajolet, a side valley of the Val di Fassa, stretches into the heart of the mighty Catinaccio Group. Our winter hike leads from Soal above the valley entrance to the mountain huts on the Gardeccia High Plateau. The path is flattened and can be used as a sledge run.
The 3.5 km long trail overcomes less than 400 metres of altitude difference and snakes its way first through the forest and then through the rocky landscape beneath Mt. Crepe di Larsec. After a 90-minute walk we reach the mountain huts on the Gardeccia High Plateau: Baita Enrosadira, Baita Stella Alpina Spiz Piaz and Rifugio Gardeccia. All of them can be found at the 2,000 m a.s.l. limit at the end of the trail.
Several ski tours and snowshoe tours leading into the heart of the Catinaccio Group start at this sunny place. In the afternoon we turn back along the same trail to the Soal parking space, the starting point of this winter hike.
