A gorgeous path through the woods above Madonna di Campiglio and Folgarida, near the Passo di Campo Carlo Magno pass, leads us to the Montagnoli, Vaglianella and Mondifrà alpine pastures

The Vaglianella and the neighbouring Mondifrà alpine pastures are the destination of our interesting winter hike in the surroundings of Madonna di Campiglio, off the beaten track. This winter hike can be recommended to all those, who want to enjoy the landscape of the Brenta Dolomites calmly.
At the parking space of the Campo Carlo Magno Pass we follow the well-signposted but not numbered path towards the Malga Montagnoli. After a steep ascent of about 30 minutes, the mountain hut is ideal to rest or to have a coffee break.
From here the winter hike proceeds past the mountain hike (on the left) downhill to the path no. 301 towards Grostè. After about half an hour we reach a junction where we follow the left path slightly ascending towards the Malga Vaglianella. The alpine pasture with the mountain hut (unfortunately closed in winter) is an awesome place for a rest with panoramic view. Here we enjoy our picnic. An alternative would be to walk downhill to the Malga Mondifrà (20 minutes). To come back to our starting point again, we follow the signposts towards the Campo Carlo Magno Pass (no. 355), also end point of our circular winter hike.
