Cembra, the main place of the eponymous valley (Val di Cembra), is located at 667 m a.s.l. on a wide ice-age natural terrace. The village is mainly characterised by winegrowing and excellent wines, like Müller-Thurgau, Nosiola, Cabernet and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are cultivated on picturesque terraces, which slope down to the Avisio river. The village itself is characterised by manor houses and a rural charm. Worth a visit is the St. Peter Church with its fantastic frescoes, it is located in the village centre.
Also an excursion to the Lago Santo lake, the “Holy Lake”, should not be missing. It is an idyllic lake amidst the countryside. An excursion destination at any time of the year!
