Dasindo is idyllically located at 502 m asl. in the Lomasona valley and has about 100 inhabitants. It is well-known for the production of delicacies made from corn flour (“Polenta” in Italian). Narrow alleys and ancient stone houses are characteristic for the village. Worth seeing is the Church of the Assumption of Mary which was built in the 16th century and decorated with frescoes of Simone II Baschenis. A true gem! On the left side of the church the crypt of Giovanni Prati can be found.
In the Advent and Christmas period the so-called “Percorso tra i presepi di Vigo Lomaso e Dasindo”, a path with Christmas cribs, is organised. Every corner, every house and every garden shows true masterpieces, beautifully built by the locals of the two small villages.
