The Valle di Ledro valley became famous in 1929, when approx. 10,000 stakes of lake dwellings from the Bronze Age were found on the banks of Lake Ledro near Molina di Ledro, remains of ancient settlements. The then also found objects and statues can be admired in the museum (Museo delle Palafitte) today.
The municipality consists of 15 hamlets: Pieve di Ledro (place of administration with the townhall), Bezzecca, Concei, Molina di Ledro, Tiarno di Sopra, Tiarno di Sotto, Lenzumo, Mezzolago, Pré di Ledro, Biacesa, Barcesino, Enguiso, Legos, Locca and Pur.
A wide range of sights awaits you! Among them Lake Ledro and Lake Ampola, the scenic road of the Ponale (a walking and cycling path which leads you to Riva del Garda), the Gorg d’Abiss Waterfall, the Val Concei valley, several alpine pastures and mountains and a wide road network for hikes and mountain bike tours.
