To the left of the Cismon and Canali rivers Transacqua is located at 746 m a.s.l. The village has about 2,100 inhabitants and is the centre of the entire valley, a popular holiday destination for all who are searching for quiet and relaxation. In former times the village was a centre of mining, today it has a beautiful village centre and carries the title “Comune Fiorito” (flower village).
Art lovers can look forward to the San Marco Parish Church which was built in the 18th century and houses a valuable altarpiece of Saint Mark. Also worth seeing is the Someda Palace from the 16th century, a meeting place for local and international artists. Today exhibitions and cultural events take place in this palace.
