Mezzolombardo is located along the former road section between the Val d’Adige and the Val di Non valleys. The village extends at the foot of a mountain that is dominated by the San Pietro Castle and the homonymous chapel. Along the main road you can see wonderful mansions dating back to the 18th and 20th centuries.
The municipality has got historic roots reaching back to prehistoric times, which is why in the course of the last centuries it has become a flourishing economic centre. Particularly viticulture is being promoted in the village since a long time. According to an ancient legend the red wine Teroldego was already known by the poet Ovid.
Mezzolombardo is located along the “Strada del vino e dei sapori” of the Rotaliana plain, a pleasure road mainly focusing on wine and a popular destination for gourmets.
