Coming from Trento, the village ofe Valfloriana extends in the south-west of the Val di Fiemme on the left riverside of the Avisio.
The inhabitants of the Valfloriana have preserved their old traditions, as for example the "Carnival of the Matòci", one of the most impressive carnivals in the area. Every year, this carnival, famous for its wooden masks and the presence of some traditional characters, including the Matòci, Paiaci and Harlequins, takes place here. The culinary specialities of the region, especially the selection of typical cheeses, are also not to be missed.
The area of Valfloriana comprises ten small villages situated at the south-western end of the Val di Fiemme. The whole area offers beautiful excursions to the Lagorai range and lots of fun on the slopes in the ski areas of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa.
