Varena is a typical village of the Val di Fiemme and is situated at the foot of the Corno Nero, also called "Rocca" (2.439 m a.s.l.).
A great attraction of the village is its nativity scene, featuring 90 nativity figurines as well as 120 animal figurines exhibited on an area of 2.500 sqm. This nativity scene is accessible on a 900 m long path network, leading visitors through the different Christmas scenes. Another attraction are the porphyry fountains.
Only 8 km from Varena, there is the Passo Lavazè, a real paradise for those who love hiking and winter sports. More than 80 km of ski slopes and cross-country ski tracks are waiting to be explored.
