The small village of Amblar has about 250 inhabitants and is located at the slopes of the Monte Roen mountain. Plenty of archaeological finds prove that the Val di Non valley has been occupied by the Raeti since prehistoric times. There are no documents about the origins of the village, the first written sources date back to the 12th century.
Surrounded by green forests, Amblar offers a fantastic panoramic view from the Monte Luco mountain and the Maddalene mountain range right up to the Monte Peller mountain and the impressive Brenta mountain group. The oldest part of Amblar is called “Cianton” or “Ciastel”, an ancient housing area with inner courtyard built of stone and wood. In the district called “Ai Masi” the architecture of former accommodations can be admired. And in the upper village the district “Belvedere” is located which offers a beautiful view on Amblar and its surrounding. Worth a visit is also the park “Conca Verde” in the village centre, an ideal place to walk and relax.
Only 1 km far from the village the so-called “Porta di Vallavena” can be found, an old barrier which prohibited the access to the forest in order to prevent the theft of timber. Amblar is the ideal destination for family holidays, here you can discover the magic environment afoot, by bike or even on horseback.
