Livo is situated in the heart of the Mezzalone plateau between the gorges of the Pescara and Barnes rivers, at 741 m a.s.l

The village of Livo, one of the oldest in the valley, inculdes the three localities Preghena, Varollo and Scanna.
The residence "della Toresela", a building in Renaissance style, is particularly worth visiting. Other places of cultural interest are the three churches Pievana della Natività in the locality of Varollo, the church San Antonio in the locality of Preghena and the church San Martino, a historic building in Romanesque style. Furthermore you can admire frescos dating back to the 15th century.
Not far from Livo, there is the Zoccolo Castle, situated on a green hill which offers a magnificent view. This castle, once the residence of the Zoccolo family from Livo, was later entrusted to the Thun family.
