At the foot of the Presena Glacier (3,000 m a.s.l.), the summer and winter holiday resort Passo Tonale offers the possibility to ski almost all year round (except in summer). The skiing area comprises more than 44 km of pistes and is connected to the slopes of Ponte di Legno, Valle Camonica and Temù by modern lift facilities. Cross-country skiers can find 5 km of tracks in winter straight at the Passo Tonale and further 20 km in the Volpaia-Stavel-Velon area.
In summer, the Passo Tonale is starting point for plenty of walks, hikes and mountain tours which reach until the Stelvio National Park in the Ortles area and the Adamello-Presanella Group. Also mountain bikers can find a range of routes here.
