Caldes, mainly characterised by agriculture, with its districts of Samoclevo, San Giacomo, Cassana, Tozzaga, Bordiana and Bozzana, is surrounded by plenty of apple orchards (area of the cultivation of Melinda).
In the east of the village, there are the historical walls of Castle Caldes, a legendary castle dating back to the year 1230 AD. Over the centuries, it has been rebuilt several times and recently restored. Next to the castle is a small, interesting chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary with beautiful frescoes by Elia Naurizio.
Particularly characteristic are the localities of Caldes. At Samoclevo, e.g., there is a remarkable place of interest: the ruin (Rocca di Samoclevo) at the foot of Monte Vesa. On about 1,000 m a.s.l. this ruin dominates the valley.
