Cavizzana, a small village in the Val di Sole valley, is the only one situated at the right Noce riverbank. If you take a look at the past of the village, especially the year 1632 AD strikes. This year is even carved into the “sas de la guardia”, a rock located above the village, which reminds of the year in which the pest afflicted the Val di Sole valley. The small village of Cavizzana, however, was wondrously omitted by this epidemic.
Remarkable from an artisitic point of view is for example the parish church, built “in alpine style, in the Val di Sole style”. Dating back to the 14th century, it has been dedicated to the Bishop of Tours, who is illustrated on the emblem of Cavizzana. However, the economy in the village is mainly agricultural and primarily based on the fruit-growing sector.
In Cavizzana, there are also different bicycle paths and a bowling alley.
