Montagne with its 230 inhabitants is part of the new municipality of Tre Ville and consists of the hamlets of Larzana (approx. 1,000 m a.s.l. and formerly seat of the municipality), Cort and Binio.
Near Binio the entrance to the idyllic Val di Manez valley in the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park is located. From the village of Colonia the area is closed to traffic. An original alpine valley awaits you here, a gorgeous area for fantastic walks and hiking tours up to the alpine pastures and to the neighbouring Val d'Algone valley. Another popular hike in the area of Montagne starts in Passo Daone and takes you up to the 1,835 m high Cima Durmont mountain summit.
Montagne is part of the so-called Comunità delle Regole di Spinale e Manez dating back to the year 1377. To clarify, this is an entity that still today administers pastures and forests as well as immovables in the area. The revenues are dedicated to social purposes.
