Located at 557 m a.s.l. and with its 600 inhabitants Spera is a popular place to spend relaxing holidays in the green countryside. The village is especially known for its sweet chestnuts and wood processing, but the favourable location enables also growing of apples, pears and the production of honey.
Although Spera is a small village, it offers some sights for culture lovers. Among them the Santa Apollonia Church from the 14th century, the frescoes in the Assumption of Mary Church and the small spot of Primalunetta with its San Bartolo Chapel. Moreover the surrounding of Spera invites to beautiful walks and hiking tours amidst centuries-old chestnut trees or along the “Trodo dei Salti” hiking path, which proceeds also past the “De Cogno” Waterfalls.
