Surrounded by vineyards, Ospedaletto is located at the exit of Val Bronzale. The toponym of the village is derived from an old hospital (Ital. ospedale) for travellers. Today, however, Ospedaletto sees an economical and industrial boost due to a modernising process.
For a pleasant walk we recommend you the pleasant pine forests of Val Bronzale, a place that is perfect for relaxing. The grotto of Bigonda, however, is not only an interesting spot for speleologists. In its interior there are lakes and siphon caves, that is to say caves that are completely underwater in case of high tide. Absolutely worth to be visited is the Ponte dell’Orco bridge boasting a span of more than 40 metres. This free standing natural bridge emerged after the crash of a vaults of the grotto.
